Holy shit.  That's  all I have to say.  The past two weeks I haven't done a damn thing outside my day-job except work on P.A.#3, and I'm telling you - Cabin Fever - cabin fucking fever.  That warning that successful comic book creators give in interviews - if you really want to write and draw your own comic, be prepared to spend and exorbitant amount of time in solitude - is totally fucking true.

Well I only got one letter, and I suppose that's to be expected  for a web comic, and it kind of doesn't count because I emailed him directly.  This coming from my buddy up North, Michael La Riccia, once again he had some kind words to bestow upon me.

Damn...,

The new story is hot. Good job with the website. The pages really look good digitally with the smooth gray tones.

I am working on Black mane 2 and I really feel it will bebetter than the first book. I am going to MOCCA this weekend in New York and I plan to go to SPX and Stumptown in October. Stumptown looks very similar to the vibe STAPLE has.

I defintiely plan to do STAPLE again next year. We should sit together and catch up. I'll let you know when my site is updated with new work.

Also- That anthology by Angry Dog Press invited me to do a story so I will be in Potlatch 5.

Good to hear from you, I was actually just reading your comic again last week.

Take care,

Mike

Thanks again Mike.  I know I answered this email a month ago, but you know.  And I'll defiinitely be doing what I can to make sure we're sitting next to eachother at Staple! next year.
Everybody can check out his site at www.michaellariccia.com

The comic he's talking about having read is my short-story collection Tales From Planet Aeruen.  I f you don't live in Austin, you can order a premium quality print on demand copy for $12 here.

Okay I've got another letter from my old friend and former roomate Eric:

hey whats going on?

I never really have too much interesting to talk about or say these days, life consists of work and school. WoW occasionaly. So yes, life is boring and Corpus can blow my ass.

Anyway, your comic site isnt bad. I assume you do it all yourself? I recomend posting your hit single "Kyle the Pedophile" up there... no I dont actually. But that was a hit single.

Since you included pictures in your last email of your recent events I was going to put some screenshots in of my guilds latest attempts at cool bosses... but im too lazy right now to convert them and they are too big to send as is (necessary software not currently installed, on my new laptop).

This is the point where I stop wasting your time.

Laters,
e

Yep, my buddy Eric is one of many World of Warcraft addicts.  I might check him into rehab somtime. He and I used to play Diablo II together like crazy, but who the fuck has time for video games anymore when you're drawing a comic book all the time?  I don't know how the hell he does it working and going to school fulltime.
The reason why the site isn't all spiffy, as I informed Eric, is because I do it all in Microsoft Publisher 97.  It's a bit limited, but it still enables me to make a site where people can read my comic and easily navigate it, and not have to fuck with coding too much.

Anywayz.  That's it for now.  Hit "next" for a preview of next issue's cover.  And send your emails to Planetaeruen@ginckpress.com - even if it's just to say I suck.
